The Best Family Poems

Family poems show how much people care about each other in a family. They talk about love, togetherness, and all the special moments families share.

These poems make you feel happy inside because they talk about all the fun times families have together, like playing games, laughing, and going on adventures.

They can be full of fun and laughter, just like the games we play with our family members. These people celebrate special moments, like birthdays and holidays, when we come together as a family.

Family poems help you remember special moments with your family, like birthdays, and holidays, and even simple everyday moments like snuggling up for bedtime stories.

Let’s read some family poems.

Family

By Josephine Zavala-Florez

God gave each of us a special family
that we can call our own.
A family that loves us for who we are
so we would never feel alone.

They may not like everything we do
or everything we say,
but the beautiful thing about “family”
is that they love us anyway.

Sometimes we feel rejected
by people who do not care,
but our hearts are warmed when remember.
that our family is always there!

So hug them a little more often,
for sometimes we hurt the ones we love.
And tell them how much you love them,
for they were sent to you from above.

A Parent’s Heart

By Ann T. Tran

When you feel like breaking down or crashing in,
Who do you turn to, to forgive your sin?
When you cried your lonely tears,
Who will be there to fight your fears?
And when it feels like no one would understand,
Who was there to hold your hand?

There are people whom you can’t replace,
They’re the ones who gave you your face.
They’ll love you through thick and thin,
They show you the light from deep within.
And if by chance you happen to die,
They’ll be the ones who will really cry.

You see, my friend, there’s no one who can love you more
Than your very own parents, that’s for sure.
Always remember this is true,
That wherever you go, your parents will be there for you.

 A Family Meeting

The night before he died,
My dad took my hand in his,
And with his wrinkled, dying strength,
He took the air and said this:
“We’ve had a good life together,
And we’ve always been a team.
But I want you to take care of your mother,
After I’ve gone, and look after her dreams.
You know how much she’s meant to me,
She’s been my partner through and through,
And though I won’t be here in body,
I’ll be watching over you.”

The Love Of A Family

Is life’s greatest blessing,
A shelter from the storm,
A warmth in the cold.
It is unconditional,

A never-ending bond,
A source of strength and hope,
A love that will never grow old.

Those Winter Sundays

By Robert Hayden

Sundays too my father got up early
and put his clothes on in the blueblack cold,
then with cracked hands that ached
from labor in the weekday weather made
banked fires blaze. No one ever thanked him.
I’d wake and hear the cold splintering, breaking.
When the rooms were warm, he’d call,
and slowly I would rise and dress,
fearing the chronic angers of that house,
Speaking indifferently to him,
who had driven out the cold
and polished my good shoes as well.
What did I know, what did I know.

Happy Family

And that, my friends, is how it all began.
A big house full of relatives and friends,
In a big, loud, and happy family,
Where everyone was welcome in the end.
There were aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents,
All gathered together from near and far,
Sharing stories, memories, and laughter,
In one great big family reunion bazaar.

A Family Is Like A Circle

A family is like a circle.
The connection never ends,
and even if at times it breaks,
in time it always mends.

A family is like the stars.
Somehow they’re always there.
Families are those who help,
who support and always care.

A family is like a book.
The ending’s never clear,
but through the pages of the book,
their love is always near.

A family is many things.
With endless words that show
who they are and what they do
and how they teach you so you know.

But don’t be weary if it’s broken
or if through time it’s been so worn.
Families are like that –
they’re split up and always torn.

But even if this happens,
your family will always be.
They help define just who you are
and will be a part of you eternally.

A Grandparent’s Love

By Tina Williams

It seems like only yesterday
Our lives were just beginning.
Your love for us never failed,
Our hearts continually mending.

It is strange to watch the time fly
Before our very eyes,
Which reminds me of the blessing,
That we have you in our lives.

To have yet to feel the touch
That’s as gentle as your hand
The closeness of our family
One could never understand.

As each of our lives
Continues to change,
Reflections of your love
In each of us remains.

You have pointed out the path
And led us along the way;
The wisdom you have planted,
We each still hold today.

You sheltered us through childhood
And saw us through today,
Taught us of the Lord above,
About faith, and how to pray.

One day we’ll all be in heaven
Dancing on the throne,
Praising God for giving us
A family like we’ve never known.

No matter where our lives may go,
We will trust the Lord above
And through it all always thank him
For our grandparents’ love.

While You Weren’t Here

By Janet Michael

While you weren’t here
I cried every night.
A million tears fell,
Still my heart wasn’t right.

While you weren’t here
I did what I could,
Hoping against hope
My decisions were good.

While you weren’t here
I gained some in age.
Things just went on
And life turned a page.

While you weren’t here
I just tried to go on,
Knowing what didn’t kill me
Would only make me strong.

While you weren’t here
A whole lot got changed.
My life became different,
My world rearranged.

While you weren’t here
I had to learn to be alone,
To stand on my two feet,
To make my own home.

So that’s where I am now,
At this stage of my life,
Still scared and alone,
Still coping with strife.

And oh how I wish that
Things could be different,
That I could go back
To a time in the past,

To a time before
You weren’t here.

A Tribute To Family

By Michelle A. Moran

I don’t know when it started,
Or how it all began,
But God created families,
As only our Lord can.

He was teaching what it means
To love, honor, and obey.
He wanted a strong bond
That we don’t see too much today.

He wanted someone to hold us
And show respect for others.
He wanted someone who’d be gentle,
So he created mothers.

He wanted someone strong,
A support filled with love,
So he created fathers,
Sent from heaven up above.

Brothers and sisters came next,
With that, an instant friend.
Someone to look up to,
Someone on whom to depend.

When he put them all together,
He was amazed at what he’d done.
He had created a family,
Mother, father, daughter, son.

But look at the family,
Created by only two.
How many we’ve become,
And all because of you.

We have a lot to be thankful for,
The memories through the years.
The many times together,
Full of laughter, full of tears.

I don’t know where we’d be today,
If it weren’t for the two of you.
To show us strength, support, and love,
Like only the two of you can do.

The Blessings Of A Big Family

By  Jennifer L. Sylvester

The blessings of a big family
are only seen by a few
A few of the chosen ones
that God has given this blessing to

The blessings are so numerous
it’s hard to even start
to number or to name them but
they all hold a place in the heart

The heart of every person in a
big family is unique
its uniqueness makes us special
and should not be critiqued

The memories that are made
are more precious than gold
from babies to weddings
from young and to old

From grandparents to grandchildren
and everyone in between
the many special relationships that are built
and could have never been foreseen

Thank you God
for my big family I will treasure
through the good times and bad
the memories could not be measured

Thank you God
for birthdays, simple get-togethers and even the tears
for I pray that these blessings
last many, many more years

To have a big family
can be a lot of work, not just play
but life is too short
so I THANK GOD FOR MY BIG FAMILY TODAY!
